*Corresponds to 45,05 g of Amikacin Sulfate.

Main Indications:

Pareun® is recommended for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases in equine caused by agents sensitive to Amikacin. The etiologic agents susceptible to Pareun® are: Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella newport, Salmonella typhimurium, Serratia marcescens, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius.

Some diseases that affect the horses come from bacterial infections caused by these microorganisms and are usually related to the respiratory tract, hepatic and musculoskeletal diseases, genitourinary and gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, skin and eye diseases.

Directions and Dosages:

Pareun® is indicated for equine and it must be administered through intramuscular route. The dose of Pareun® for adult horses is 15,0 mg of Amikacin/kg bodyweight (BW), which corresponds to 2,0 mL/45 kg BW. In foals, the dose of Pareun® is 21,0 mg Amikacin/kg (2,8 mL/45 kg). In both cases, the treatment is in a single dose. However, Pareun® can be used for up to 7 consecutive days (administered every 24 hours), at the discretion of the veterinarian.

If the volume of product to be applied exceeds 10 mL, it is recommended to be divided into two or more application sites.

The efficacy of antimicrobials depends on the sensitivity of the microorganisms to the active ingredients that make up the product and on the adequate attendance to the recommendations of the veterinarian who prescribed the drug, such as dose, treatment time and number of applications per day.
