Its best lipid solubility allows it to reach higher intracellular concentrations compared to other tetracycline.

With bacteriostatic action, Doxifin® Tablets 50 mg is indicated for the treatment of various diseases that affect cats and dogs, caused by the following etiological agents that are susceptible to Doxycycline: Ehrlichia canis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Pasteurella multocida type A, Arcanobacterium (Corynebacterium) pyogenes and Escherichia coli; such as: ehrlichiosis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary tract infections; as well as skin and annexes.

Directions:

Doxifin® Tabs must be offered to the animal, according to the dosage proposed to its bodyweight, directly from the hand of the pet owner or with animal food, with no previous fast or any change in the diet for its administration.

Dosage:

Doxifin® Tabs has three different forms, each of them indicated for a range of the animals being treated. The therapeutic dose of Doxycycline is 10 mg/kg bodyweight, and it must be administered once a day for seven consecutive days, or even in case of ehrlichiosis treatment, for 28 consecutive days, or at the discretion of the veterinarian.

Notes: The slicing of tablets must be done only in half, respecting the score on the tablets.

The follow-up of the veterinarian during and after the end of the treatment of ehrlichiosis is necessary to mitigate the chances of ehrlichiosis recurrence. However the recurrence must be distinguished from the re-infestation by contact with ticks that carry E. canis and consider the prevention of tick infestation.
