Ceftiofur (Hydrochloride)* .......... 10.0 g

* Corresponds to 10,70 g of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride


Main Indications:

Lactofur® is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases in bovine and swine, caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative agents sensitive to Ceftiofur.

The etiological agents of bovine susceptible to Lactofur® are Dichelobacter nodosus, Escherichia coli, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Salmonella dublin, Staphylococcus aureus, Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida.

In swine, the susceptible microorganisms are Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida and Salmonella choleraesuis.

Directions and Dosages:

Lactofur® is indicated for bovine and swine and it must be administered by deep intramuscular injection.

BOVINE

It may be administered in a single dose, at a dose of 1 mL for each 30 kg bodyweight, that corresponds to 3,3 mg of Ceftiofur per kg bodyweight. It may also be administered at the dose of 1 mL for 100 kg bodyweight, corresponding to 1 mg of Ceftiofur per kg bodyweight, every 24 hours (SID), for 03 consecutive days. The table in the leaflet illustrates the use of Lactofur® according to the dose and weight of the animals.
 

SWINE

It must be administered in a dose of 1 mL for each 20 kg bodyweight that corresponds to 5,0 mg of Ceftiofur per kg bodyweight, in a single dose. The table in the leaflet illustrates the use of Lactofur® according to the dose and weight of the animals.


CAUTION: COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING GRACE PERIOD

BOVINE

Dose used: 1,0 mg/kg IM for up to 3 consecutive days

SLAUGHTER: THE PRODUCT DOES NOT REQUIRE GRACE PERIOD FOR THE SLAUGHTER OF TREATED BOVINE

MILK: THE PRODUCT DOES NOT REQUIRE GRACE PERIOD FOR THE CONSUMPTION OF MILK FROM THE TREATED BOVINE.

Dose used: 3,3 mg/kg IM in a single dosis

SLAUGHTER: THE PRODUCT DOES NOT REQUIRE GRACE PERIOD FOR THE SLAUGHTER OF TREATED BOVINE

MILK: THE MILK OF THE ANIMALS TREATED WITH THIS PRODUCT MUST NOT BE INTENDED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION FOR UP TO 36 HOURS AFTER THE LAST APPLICATION OF THIS PRODUCT.
 

SWINE

SLAUGHTER: THE PRODUCT DOES NOT REQUIRE GRACE PERIOD FOR THE SLAUGHTER OF TREATED BOVINE.
